Recipe Remix - Dirt Cups!

On our quest to put a healthy spin on traditionally indulgent foods, we're throwing it back to one of our favorite desserts as kids - Dirt Cups! While they're usually made with pudding, whipped cream, and cream-filled cookies, we used better-for-you ingredients like avocado, cacao powder, Smart Cookies and organic gummy worms.

They're super easy to make and really fun for your kids to help you assemble. Give it a try and let us know what you think! 

Ingredients (Makes about 4 Servings)
2 cups of milk of your choice
1 tablespoon and 1 ½ teaspoon Ancestral Roots Cacao Powder
6 tablespoons of Health Warrior Chia Seeds
4 tablespoons 100% pure maple syrup
1 ripe banana
2 medium avocados
1 teaspoon vanilla
15 Bitsy’s Sweet Potato Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
1 Package Black Forest Organic Gummy Worms
Dash cinnamon
Sprinkle of pink himalayan sea salt

  1. Put all ingredients except the Bitsy’s Sweet Potato Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Black Forest Organic Gummy Worms in the blender. Blend on medium speed.
  2. Put blended mixture in fridge from approximately 1 hour so it can thicken up into a pudding like substance. 
  3. While you wait for the pudding, place Smart Cookies into the food processor and blend on low for about 10 seconds. You don't want the cookies to be completely ground up.
  4. Once the pudding is ready, pour into cups or bowls of your choice and cover with the ground Smart Cookies and top with the Black Forest Organic Gummy Worms.

You can also substitute the gummy worms for fruit, like blueberries, for a healthy breakfast option.
